CHP Media Coverage

Video by Volunteer Neil Strawder – February 24th 2019
It was a chilly and blustery day in Hawthorne Park but hearts, food and smiles were warm. It is remarkable when our community pulls together to help others in need. From blankets and sleeping bags to clothes, food and toiletries, individuals found not only physical necessities today but friends. People were greeted by our wonderful volunteers and CHP members that show up every other Sunday and two times each week to spread hope, love and offer their support.
Big thank you to our friend, Neil Strawder for this little ‘behind the scenes’ look. A lot of work goes into these events and it wouldn’t be possible without everyone’s support. “I believe that appreciation is a holy thing–that when we look for what’s best in a person we happen to be with at the moment, we’re doing what God does all the time. So in loving and appreciating our neighbor, we’re participating in something sacred.”
